Neil Druckmann Gives The Last of Us Multiplayer Update

Neil Druckmann Gives Update on The Last of Us Multiplayer Game

The remake of the first The Last of Us leaked early before its official announcement, which some thought would then later come with the reveal of Naughty Dog’s multiplayer game. But that didn’t quite happen. However, Naughty Dog Co-President Neil Druckmann did take to the Summer Game Fest Live stage to speak about the online title, even though he wasn’t quite ready to show it.

Druckmann said the success of The Last of Us Part II selling over 10 million copies allowed the team to bulk up and make more games. The standalone multiplayer title is one of them and it will be as “big as any of [Naughty Dog’s] single-player games” and is even bigger “in some ways.” It will have a story with unique storytelling and a brand-new cast of characters. Druckmann also stated that it took place in another part of the United States and the concept art he showed had the Golden Gate Bridge in the background, meaning that it is at least partially set in the San Francisco Bay Area. Various Uncharted and The Last of Us veterans are heading the title.

However, don’t expect more soon. Druckmann went on to say that it won’t be shown until next year. Druckmann is also involved in some other mysterious game at Naughty Dog, but didn’t reveal much about it.
