During Sony’s State of Play conference on Friday, Capcom unveiled a new game called Exoprimal that will have players stepping into giant mechs and taking on waves of dinosaurs. The game will come out on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC in 2023.

In the debut trailer for the game, players were seen stepping into large mechs before dropping into a city that looked to be overrun with various types of dinosaurs. While fans initially thought that the game would be a new entry in the Dino Crisis series, Capcom confirmed after its announcement that the game was a brand new series instead. It’ll also be a cooperative shooter, which makes it pretty different from Dino Crisis.

“It’s 2040 and the planet is in crisis. Dinosaurs are appearing from thin air and laying waste to cities across the globe,” says Capcom. “Threatened by history’s deadliest creatures, the world turns to the powerful Aibius Corporation and its revolutionary technology for help. The company’s next-generation AI, Leviathan, can forecast where dinosaur outbreaks will occur and deploy Exofighters to the area. Armed with state-of-the-art mechanized combat armor known as Exosuits, these warriors represent humanity’s last hope.”
Capcom also released a developer overview, which went over the game’s classes and a vague version of its general flow. The first class is the Deadeye, which has powerful assault weapons that attack from a distance. Zephyr is a melee class. Roadblock is a tank that has a big shield . The Witchdoctor is the healer. Players can also swap to different suits in the middle of battle.
