2K and Visual Concepts announced a top-10 list that sees some of the biggest features coming to the game, including some huge foundational improvements, requests that fans have been hoping to see for some time, and additional modes as well.
Perhaps most importantly, the first feature listed is the fact that Visual Concepts has redesigned the engine for WWE 2K22 from the ground up. Now, they say, every dive, finisher, and other attacks should feel more realistic than in previous years and will be able to be felt as soon as players pick up the controller. New control options will also be available in the game, with a new configuration aimed to ensure players have more control over what they’re doing in the ring. Graphical overhauls have also been done, with Visual Concept saying these are the “best-ever” graphics for the franchise.
As far as game modes go, a brand new WWE 2K Showcase has been introduced into the game, allowing players to relive some of the most legendary matches in WWE history. MyGM, MyFaction, and MyRise are also coming to WWE 2K22, which allow players to run an entire WWE program, build out a legendary faction, or simply experience the journey of a single WWE superstar, respectively.
Other features include the return of Universe Mode, the game type that lets players control things like brands, pay-per-views, match results, and more. Alongside Universe Mode, the Creation Suite in WWE 2K is also making a return and will have even more wild and unique elements in it to allow players to create a variety of things.
