While a bit lifeless to some, Hot Wheels Unleashed had a decent lineup of licensed and is set to get even more of them with the upcoming expansion and season content centered around Batman and his many nemeses. Not only is the DC Super-Villains Racing Season starting soon, the game is also set to get a paid expansion with Batman-related vehicles, tracks, and more.
The DC Super-Villains Racing Season will run from November 11 to January 18, 2022. This season will have both free and premium content that will unlock after completing challenges that are specific to the season. It sounds similar to battle passes found in other games where there is a free tier and premium tier.

The cars centered around Bane, Deathstroke, Cheetah, Poison Ivy, Black Manta, and Harley Quinn will only be available on the premium tier. There will also be customization items for the Basement and player profile, gear, and coins, but it’s not clear exactly what will be in what tier. Some of these item can be seen in action in the trailer below.
But that’s only the first part of the Batman onslaught. The Batman Expansion DLC will be released on December 2 as a part of the Hot Wheels Pass Vol. 1 and will bring a new career map inspired by Gotham, an environment based on the Batcave, a new track builder module, and “many new tracks and items.” The five cars will include the Armored Batman, Robin 2.0T, The Penguin, Batman Rebirth, and The Joker GT. All of these different pieces of DLC, including the Joker Funhouse Split hazard, can be seen in the trailer below.
Milestone S.r.l. only briefly mentioned this Batman expansion pack as a part of its big DLC announcement from August. It will be available separately on December 2, but no price was given. However, the Hot Wheels Pass Vol. 1 is $29.99 and was included the ultimate edition.
This is, strangely, not the only game with cars with a Batman-focused season. Rocket League is currently throwing its Haunted Hallows event, which is a Halloween celebration doubling as a Batman event.
