The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is arguably Nintendo’s biggest game so it makes sense that it decided to end its Direct on the highly anticipated sequel. The game received a brief new trailer that didn’t reveal an exact release date, but a general release window: 2022. It’s also worth noting that Breath of the Wild 2 isn’t the official title, as Nintendo insists on calling it Sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for now.
The 99-second trailer showcases very little about the game, but does show an open world, enemies, and a handful of new abilities. One seems to be a twist on the Stasis power from the first game while appears to let Link go through walls or floors. The skies seem to play a bigger part as Link makes his debut skydiving. The trailer’s description even makes an effort to point out the “skies above” Hyrule.

Nintendo did not state when it would share more about the game and given its vague 2022 release date, it might be a bit until more of Link’s next adventure reveals itself to the public. Zelda Producer Eiji Aonuma said that, while he is asking players to wait until next year, he hopes players look forward to it.
