According to PlayStation Game Size, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be a total of 42.183 GB. It is also denoted that this file size is without the day one patch, so the final size could vary when the game releases June 11 exclusively on PlayStation 5.
We’ve also learned that the pre-load date for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be on June 4, a week before its release. Although it isn’t out of the ordinary for the pre-load date to be a full week out from release, it does vary from game to game. For example, Resident Evil Village‘s pre-load date was on May 5, just two days before release, while Returnal‘s pre-load date was April 25, several days before its April 30 launch.

All things considered, the 42 GB file size for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart seems pretty generous considering the technical feats this game seems to possess. Running at what looks like a steady 30 FPS in 4K resolution with ray-traced reflections, the file size really isn’t too big, especially for a full-length triple-A game. In comparison, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales requires roughly 40 GB and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is over 70 GB. So, unless your PlayStation 5 is already full, it doesn’t seem you’ll need to make room for it.
