For the second year in a row, the elusive new game from Rocksteady Studios won’t be ready for the big E3 conference. Rocksteady’s co-founder Sefton Hill announced the news on Twitter, saying they are “hard at work on our next big project.”
Hi all! A number of you have asked so we wanted to let you all know up front that @Rocksteadygames won't be showing at E3 this year. We’ll be watching as fans but remaining in London, hard at work on our next big project. Enjoy the show!

Rocksteady Games is best known for their Batman Arkham series, which includes Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City, and Batman: Arkham Knight. Due to the critical and financial success of the Arkham game trilogy, countless rumors and fan theories had taken the internet by storm last year with theories that they would tackle Superman with their next title. This was denied by Hill late last year, but it’s still unclear what game Rocksteady’s been working on for the past several years.

Naturally, this will only add fuel to the fire of rabid speculation, even with Superman out of the mix. Add to that the fact that the recently announced next-gen consoles on the horizon, and there are all sorts of theories that could spring from this.
