Mini-Review:
After a shaky start, “The Batman” continues to get better and better as seen in this second season of the series. The show continues to feature very impressive animation and familiar characters drawn in very unique styles. The Riddler now looks like Marilyn Manson, The Joker looks like a court jester, and Mr. Freeze looks like a block of ice. It’s an interesting change after seeing the characters drawn almost the same for so many years. The voice cast also continues to be strong. Freddy Krueger himself, Robert Englund, comes on board to play The Riddler. Kurgan (or Mr. Crabs from SpongeBob) plays Mr. Freeze. Sexy Gina Gershon plays sexy Catwoman while Adam West, the former Batman himself, even plays the Mayor in this series. All in all, it’s a lot of fun.
If you’re a comic fan or any kind of fan of Batman, this is required viewing for you. It’s cool for little kids to watch and the stories are exciting enough to engage adults. It’s fun for the whole family.
Unfortunately, Warner Brothers skimped on the bonus features here. All they did was put together a series of clips from the first and second seasons. Not much to see here.
