20th Century Fox Home Entertainment’s I, Robot sold 2.6 million combined DVD and VHS units Tuesday, its first day on store shelves, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
That figure slightly surpasses first-day sales of Universal Studios Home Entertainment’s The Bourne Supremacy, which sold $2.5 million combined units during its first day in release December 7.
“Supremacy” was last week’s top-selling and -renting title, generating an estimated $15.10 million in gross rental spending during its first week in release. The spy thriller sold 5 million combined DVD and VHS units during the same frame.
