A Stormy Daniels documentary on Peacock chronicled the adult film actress’ life and the criminal case against former President Donald Trump. The documentary titled Stormy premiered on the network earlier this year on March 18, 2024. Director Sarah Gibson worked on the documentary alongside producer Erin Lee Carr. It also includes interviews with Seth Rogen, Jimmy Kimmel, and others close to Daniels.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Daniels detailed her alleged sexual encounter with Trump in July 2006. The latter was married to his third wife, Melania, at the time. She claimed the incident occurred during the American Century Championship, a celebrity golf tournament, at Edgewood Tahoe golf course in Nevada. In later interviews, Daniels claimed that the encounter was consensual. However, in the Stormy documentary, she alleged that he had cornered her back then.
In the Peacock documentary, Stormy Daniels made several other disclosures, including the hush money case against Donald Trump. Daniels claimed that in 2016, before the U.S. Presidential elections, Trump made his lawyer, Michael Cohen, pay her $130,000 in hush money. She alleged the money was to keep her quiet about the said affair to avoid a scandal during the elections. Trump, the first former President to face criminal charges on the said allegations, has denied these claims. He is now on trial on 34 felony counts, per BBC.
What did Stormy Daniels say about her alleged affair with Donald Trump?
According to USA Today, Stormy Daniels spoke about her first encounter with Donald Trump at the 2006 golf tournament. She claimed Trump invited her to his room for dinner, to which she initially declined. However, her publicist told her to go and “‘get a good laugh out of it. You’ll have a good story.'”
Daniels claimed in the documentary that they had a “good conversation,” but after she came out of the bathroom, Trump, then 60, cornered her. She added, “I don’t remember how I got on the bed, and the next thing I know, he was humping away and telling me how great I was. It was awful, but I didn’t say no.”
The adult film actress said it was the first and the last sexual encounter they had despite meeting “five or six” times after that. In the documentary, she said that Trump tried to get in touch with her several times after their first encounter. She said that he would “profess his love” and even “beg to see me again.”
Stormy Daniels also spoke about the alleged hush money payment Donald Trump made via his attorney, Michael Cohen. One month before the 2016 Presidential elections, Cohen made her a $130,000 payment so she would keep quiet about her alleged affair with Trump. Daniels disclosed that she signed an NDA at the time “to keep the story from coming out” so it wouldn’t hurt her family. Moreover, she believed, “There would be a paper trail and money trail linking me to Donald Trump so that he could not have me killed.”
In the Peacock documentary, Daniels also voiced her concerns regarding the harassment she encountered due to the legal complications with Trump. She disclosed that a stranger had once threatened her in Las Vegas while she was with her daughter in a parking lot. Daniels spoke about hate comments she receives on social media, among other constant rape and death threats.
What did Stormy Daniels reveal in her Peacock documentary?
People Magazine reported that Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, spoke about the legal case in detail in Peacock’s Stormy documentary. Daniels said that by opening up, “I wasn’t trying to be a champion for #MeToo or for any other movement. Originally I just did this for purely f—— selfish reasons. I wanted to stand up for myself and save my own ass, not anyone else’s.”
The documentary also focuses on Daniels’ professional career as an adult film actress and her personal life. Talking about her life as a child, she revealed that her parents divorced when she was a toddler. Later, her mother got involved in a life of partying and drinking and “was always looking for situations with men.” Daniels further claimed that a neighbor had sexually abused her when she was nine.
In the Peacock documentary, Stormy Daniels revealed she became a teen dancer and eventually got into the adult film industry. She claimed to have worked with Wicked Pictures, turned into a renowned star by rising through the ranks, and finally became a director in the industry.
Daniels claimed that she and her ex-husband, Glendon Crain, divorced in 2018 due to legal complications. It was after the allegations against Donald Trump surfaced. She claimed, “Glen started to kind of unravel,” and the two often fought. She said that their relationship and marriage “went downhill really quickly.”
Crain, who was also a part of the documentary, alleged that he wasn’t aware of the “sexual part” between Daniels and Trump. However, he alleged he knew about “the [hush] money,” which he claimed “came to my bank account.” Crain claimed that during the scandal, Daniel was romantically involved with filmmaker Denver Nicks, alleging that the “infidelity increased.” Their split also resulted in a contentious custody battle over their daughter.
In December 2022, Stormy Daniels married her longtime friend and fellow adult film star Barrett Blade. She now lives on a Florida horse ranch with Blade and her daughter. Moreover, she is the prosecution’s star witness in Donald Trump’s criminal trial.
