Apple TV+ will soon release a documentary titled STEVE! (martin) a documentary in 2 pieces, which will showcase the illustrious life and career of Steve Martin. The 78-year-old actor is one of a kind because he possesses numerous talents. Apart from acting and stand-up comedy, Martin is also a writer, producer, and musician.
In the trailer of the upcoming project, Martin jokingly says, “I’m glad they chose me to be the subject of a biography about me.” He first received public recognition for writing The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1969. Soon, he regularly began hosting Saturday Night Live.
During the 1970s, his popularity only saw a rapid surge. Furthermore, his unique and offbeat style of stand-up comedy managed to become the talk of the town. As time went by, began receiving offers to star in movies. Some of his most famous films are Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid, The Man with Two Brains, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, Three Amigos!, Bowfinger, and more. Eventually, for his work in showbiz, he received several prestigious honors throughout his lifetime.

It further reads, ” “Then” chronicles Martin’s early struggles and meteoric rise to revolutionize stand-up before walking away at 35. “Now” focuses on the present day, with Martin in the golden years of his career, retracing the transformation that led to happiness in his art and personal life.”
When will Steve! (Martin) be released?
STEVE! (martin) a documentary in 2 pieces will be released on Apple TV+ on 29 March 2024. Reportedly, names such as Finn Wittrock, Martin Short, Tina Fey, Selena Gomez, Diane Keaton, Jerry Seinfeld, and more will feature in this project.
The upcoming documentary is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on his meteoric rise, while the second, on his current life and career.
The director of STEVE! (Martin) a documentary in 2 pieces is Morgan Neville, who is best known for the 2013 Oscar-winning documentary, 20 Feet from Stardom. According to PEOPLE Magazine, Neville is a lifelong Steve Martin fan. He stated that he began memorizing the Martin comedy albums when he was just 10 years old. He said, “I’ve been a fan of Steve’s since I was a 10-year-old memorizing his comedy albums. I have always followed his career, but making this film opened up so many more sides of Steve to me.”
Neville continued, “Steve said he wanted to make this film because it was time, and I think that’s true. We were also able to find incredible materials of Steve’s entire career, from standup through the movies, that have never been seen.”
Recently, he has starred in the popular mystery comedy-drama Only Murders in the Building. Apart from Martin, this show stars Martin Short and Selena Gomez. It has released three seasons so far, however, season 4 is currently in the works.
