Wendy Williams is one of the most iconic talk show hosts of all time. However, in recent years, she has seen a decline in her finances and health. Lifetime has produced a documentary that will delve into her story and problems. Titled Where Is Wendy Williams?, this project will air in two parts on Lifetime: February 24 and 25 at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET.

According to IMDb, the synopsis of Where Is Wendy Williams? reads, “After her hit talk show’s sudden cancellation, cameras follow Wendy Williams’ attempt at a career comeback as she confronts health and personal issues.”

The Wendy Williams Show was one of the most-watched talk shows when it was on the air. However, after 12 glorious years, it got canceled due to Williams’ health issues in 2022. Some reports suggest that she even fainted live on air in 2017. For the 13th season, producers Debmar-Mercury kept the show running by inviting guest hosts like Leah Remini, Michael Rapaport, Whitney Cummings, Fat Joe, and more. Ultimately, Sherri Sheppard’s Sherri replaced The Wendy Williams Show.

Wendy Williams is currently residing in a facility under the financial control of a court-appointed guardian. Reportedly, none of her family members have unfettered access to her. Her family members aren’t aware of this facility’s location. Furthermore, they cannot contact her themselves, but she can call them.

Wendy Williams’ family opened up about her recent struggles

According to People Magazine, Wendy Williams’ sister, niece, and brother spoke about her dwindling life and future. Wendy’s 65-year-old elder sister, Wanda, stated, “The people who love her cannot see her. I think the big [question] is: How the hell did we get here?” Meanwhile, her niece, Alex Finnie, stated that she felt heartbroken to see this side of her aunt. She said, “We’ve all seen the images over the last few months — and, really, few years — of what has seemed like a spiral for my aunt. It was shocking and heartbreaking to see her in this state.”

The aforementioned Lifetime documentary was initially about Wendy’s comeback since she was gearing up to launch a new podcast. However, the crew allegedly ended up capturing the dark reality of her alcohol addiction and health issues. Reports suggest that the former talk show host Graves’ disease and lymphedema. These conditions can cause bulging eyes and swollen feet.

According to People Magazine, she spent much time with her family in Miami. Her 23-year-old son, Kevin Hunter Jr., stated that he kept her away from alcohol. In addition, she began following a vegan diet and worked with a trainer. Unfortunately, when the family wanted to extend her visit, the show prevented it.

Kevin Hunter Jr. stated, “I said [to the producers], ‘No, she’s not coming back up because she needs to get better. I made sure that business was always on the back burner and that health was the number one priority.”

Wendy Williams is currently 59 years old. She reportedly hosted The Wendy Williams Show from 2008 to 2021.
