The ongoing costume C-drama The Double, starring Wu Jinyan and Wang Xingyue in the lead roles, released episode 11 on June 5, 2024. The episode 10 focused on Fang Fei’s (Wu Jinyan) team participating in the entry examination. Episode 11 shows Fang Fei charming the audience with her guqin skills
In this episode, Jiang Ruoyao is determined to defeat Fang Fei in the examination. She practices her guqin all day long and even misses her meals, which causes her family to become extremely worried.
Meanwhile, on Xiao Heng’s (Wang Xingyue) request, Situ Jiu Yue attempts to treat Fang Fei’s wound using the venom from a scorpion. But she warns her that the venom might cause her to hallucinate and ultimately result in her going completely mad. But Fang Fei puts all her trust in Situ and asks her to continue the procedure.
Fang Fei passes out as soon as the venom goes into her body. She goes back to the night her husband attempted to murder her. Her whole body starts to jerk, and she keeps blabbering. Situ and Xiao Heng hold her down to prevent her from harming herself. Xiao Heng understands that she has kept her feelings suppressed for a long time and helps her cry and let go of her trauma. After a while, he is able to calm her down.
Fang Fei and her teammates arrive at the examination hall for the last round. Thanks to their unforeseeable performances in the previous rounds, everyone has started to look at their team differently. Apart from Fairy Jinghong, the top performer of Wangxian Pavilion, and Mianju, the court musician, Fang Fei’s ex-husband Shen Yu Rong is present there as the examiner.

The Double Ep 11: Wu Jinyan defeats her opponent
As the examination commences, Jiang Ruoyao hypnotizes the audience and judges with her skills. Her musical piece transcends them to a world of enchantment and magic. The judges declare her one of the most prominent musicians of the generation.
Next, Fang Fei gets up on stage to deliver her performance. She is determined to win as she wants to make her family proud. She recalls how her father sacrificed his comfort so she could play the finest instruments.
Initially, the judges criticize her musical piece, condemning her for not playing a traditional tone. But as she keeps playing, she combines folk music with mysticism, gifting her audience a divine experience like never before. Her music expresses the lament and agony of a woman. The judges are brought to tears by her performance.
All the judges except Jiang Li and Jiang Ruoyao’s teacher cast their votes in favor of Fang Fei. She didn’t expect Yu Rong to vote for her, and yet again, Yu Rong is reminded of his late wife. Fang Fei graciously wins the round.
Meanwhile, the Jiang family gets suspicious of Fang Fei. She stayed at the Zhennyu hall for over ten years. It doesn’t make sense how she was allowed to learn the qin, let alone be so good at it. Jiang Li’s stepmother asks her subordinate to look for the mistress who was in charge of Zhennyu Hall.
