The ongoing Xianxia C-drama The Legend of Shen Li released episode 28 on April 2, 2024. It features Lin Gengxin and Zhao Liying in the lead roles. The episode focuses on Shen Li (Zhao Liying) and Xing Zhi’s (Lin Gengxin) bond getting stronger. While entering the house, Xing Zhi notices Shen Li staring at him and smiling. He feels his heart fluttering. Soon, he prepares a meal for Shen Li.
Shen Li notices that he smells different now than how he used to smell when he first gave her refuge. Back then, he smelled like a sea breeze, as if he had been at sea for years. But now, he smells of sea salt, fish, and blood. Shen Li is impressed that Xing Zhi has taken his role as a fisherman very seriously.
Shen Li likes that Xing Zhi possesses a diligent and broad-minded nature. She reminisces about the time he was in the mortal realm. Even though he had memories of the divine realm, he spent his days focusing on his work. Meanwhile, Xing Zhi’s presence has made a positive impact on Furong (He Yu). He has started to steer clear of women and focus on his personal growth. Meanwhile, You Lan (Jackie Li) brings him a medicinal charm she has prepared for Xing Zhi.

The next morning, Shen Li wakes up and watches over Xing Zhi as he does his daily chores. Meanwhile, Furong comes to visit him. Xing Zhi mentions that the darts affect different body parts daily, and Shen Li can not see or hear on that particular day. When Shen Li notices Furong suspiciously looking at her, she pretends to be blind. Xing Zhi calls out her name just to be sure, but she remains silent.
Furong fails to understand why Xing Zhi is being extra precautious. He is impressed at how fast Shen Li is recovering and that she can walk on her feet already. Shen Li overhears them talking about a fatal scar on Xing Zhi’s back and gets worried. Furong uses his sister’s medicinal charm on the scar.
In episode 28 of The Legend of Shen Li, Shen Li and Xing Zhi go for a walk at the beach. Xing Zhi wishes to freeze time so Shen Li would always be there with him. They go to the market to exchange the pearls sent by the dragon king for some fish. But the village chief’s son picks up a fight with Xing Zhi. Struck by Shen Li’s beauty, he tries to approach her, but Xing Zhi teaches him a lesson.
Meanwhile, Fu Sheng’s spirit visits Mo Fang and tells him how important the azure sea pearl is. He says that he knows how Mo Fang helped Shen Li escape. Fu Sheng wants to help Mo Fang, and he mingles with his soul, possessing him. He orders his pursuers to find Shen Li at any cost.
The pursuers find Shen Li and attack her. But they get confused as their attacks have no impact on Shen Li. They turn to find Xing Zhi sitting there and protecting Shen Li.
