The ongoing Xianxia C-drama The Legend of Shen Li released episode 14 on March 25, 2024. It features Lin Gengxin and Zhao Liying in the lead roles. The episode primarily focuses on Shen Li (Zhao Liying) starting to find resemblances between Xing Zhi (Lin Gengxin) and the mortal Xingyan she fell in love with. One night, Shen Li comes home heavily intoxicated. She had been drinking with Mo Fang (Xin Yun Lai) and other comrades. When Xing Zhi sees her in such a condition, he reminds her to maintain decency as she will soon be married off to the divine realm.
Shen Li tells Xing Zhi that his behavior reminds her of a mortal who used to get jealous very easily. She asks him if he has developed feelings for her. Xing Zhi turns her down, saying the feelings of love or desire do not exist for ancient gods. Shen Li asks him not to meddle with her personal affairs anymore. Xing Zhi thinks to himself that he will try not to get involved with her.
The next morning, Shen Mu Yue (Zeng Li) summons Shen Li to tell her that her fiancé, Furong, has run off to the mortal realm. During a drinking session the night before, Mo Fang had hit her, prompting him to get scared and go into hiding.

Meanwhile, Shen Li is surprised after finding out that Xing Zhi had delivered the decree asking Furong to go back to the divine realm. Then, Mu Yue orders Shen Li to look for Furong.
Furong descends to the mortal realm and celebrates his freedom. He is delighted that Shen Li would not be able to find him there. Meanwhile, Shen Li comes looking for him in the city of Jinxiu. She decides to enjoy her stroll around the city before she starts looking for him. Shen Li visits Xingyan’s old residence, where she stayed with him. She remembers how he took care of her when she was in such a vulnerable state.
She is surprised to see how no trace of Xingyuan can be found. Shen Li wonders if he even existed.
While passing through the city, Shen Li overhears a story-teller reciting the works of a strategist named Xingyuan, who helped many people. Shen Li sits by the riverbank, reminiscing the sweet moments she shared with Xinguyan. Meanwhile, she feels Xing Zhi keeping an eye on her.
Xing Zhi sits beside her, and the two start talking. Xing Zhi apologizes to Shen Li for his past behavior. Shen Li asks him upfront if he and Xinguyan are the same person. Xing Zhi finally gives in and accepts the truth.
Xing Zhi tells her he had wanted to live in the mortal realm, leading an ordinary life. Meanwhile, Shen Li alerts Xing Zhi as she feels an unfriendly aura taking over the place.
