The ongoing thriller C-drama White Cat Legend released episode 19 on February 29, 2024. The series follows the genres of mystery, fantasy, and adventure. It features Ding Yuxi, Zhou Qi, Ding Jiawen, and Zhang Yicong in the leading roles. Wang Wei has directed it, and the original broadcasting network of the drama is iQIYI. The drama is an adaptation of the famous manhwa “Dali Si Rizhi.”
The story of White Cat Legend takes place during the Tang Dynasty. It tells the story of Li Bing (Ding Yuxi), who gets appointed as the Assistant Minister of the Dali temple after the Empress recognizes his worth at a night banquet. Following his leadership, a group of temple members allies to uphold justice in the kingdom. They work hard to solve crimes and bring peace to the people of the kingdom.
In episode 19 of White Cat Legend, Li Bing asks Cui Bei to investigate the dossier thoroughly to understand that Cui Bei’s bad luck did not cause his father’s death. His father, Cui Xun, was the assistant minister of the Ministry of Works. He solved many cases of bandits, soldiers, and money embezzlement and wanted to report to the emperor. When the bandits found out, they got him killed. Li Bing assures Cui Bei is not inauspicious and that an honest and hard-working young man like him was born for the Ministry of Judicial Review.
White Cat Legend Ep 19: Ding Yuxi investigates the mysterious death of a thief
After returning to the Mingjing Hall, the members of the Court of Judicial Review faced martial arts examination. They showcase their individual talents and strengths. Even Chen Shi (Zhou Qi), who is not yet an official member of the court, participates in the tests. All of them pass the examinations with flying colors.
Meanwhile, Li Bing reviews the old cases he solved including the cases of Hua Zhi Yi, Du Zixu, and the guiding drug. He seems to find a connection between them. He sees a silhouette that resembles Hua Zhi Yi and decides to follow it.
Li Bing arrives at a noodle shop and is surprised to see General Qiu there. He informs Li Bing that a fugitive is hiding in the shop and has held a child as his hostage. The criminal knows martial arts and Li Bing realizes that it won’t be easy to take him down without harming the child. Li Bing and General Qiu assess the situation thoroughly and work together to take the fugitive into their custody.
The assistant minister informs Li Bing that another murder has taken place. Li Bing and his teammates rush to the scene. The deceased man is a veteran thief who came to steal from a warehouse. But somebody stabbed and strangled him to death. There is a possibility that a group of robbers were at the same place and at the same time. Li Bing finds it odd that the robbers left without robbing the warehouse.
White Cat Legend airs from Tuesdays to Sundays. The episodes are available for streaming on iQIYI.
