The ongoing workplace romance C-drama Our Interpreter released episode 23 on January 20, 2024. The drama features popular actors Victoria Song and Chen Xingxu in the main roles. The original broadcasting network of Our Interpreter is Hunan TV. In this series, Lin Xi (Victoria Song) and Xiao Yicheng (Chen Xingxu) are ex-lovers who broke up when Lin Xi wanted to focus on her career. Eight years after their separation, Lin Xi is a successful interpreter, and Yicheng is the technology office of a big company. They face each other once again when the companies they work for sign a partnership.
At the beginning of episode 23, Lin Xi is seen pondering over what Chen Wen had told her earlier. Previously, Chen had told Lin that she puts unnecessary pressure on her subordinates. She also said that this is why the majority of Lin’s co-workers don’t like her. Her words are clearly bothering Lin. Yicheng notices this. Lin asks him if he thinks she is a failure. Yicheng comforts her and assures her that none of this is her fault.
On the latest episode of Our Interpreter, Yicheng waits outside Lin’s apartment the next morning to join her on her trip. Yicheng decides to drive her to her destination. They reach the countryside. Lin Xi tells him that they are actually going to her parent’s house. Yicheng gets extremely nervous about meeting his future in-laws for the first time. He doesn’t want to visit them empty-handed. He goes to a store and buys fruits for Lin’s parents.

After meeting Lin’s parents, Yicheng is dumbfounded when he finds out that the fruits he bought are actually from Lin’s parent’s farm. Lin Xi shows him around. Even though Lin Xi’s mother likes Yicheng, her father is not easy to sway. Mr. Lin tells his wife that he needs to test Yicheng first to see if he is fit to marry his daughter. He criticizes everything Yicheng does, from his small appetite to his inability to drink. He tells Yicheng that he’ll only consider marrying Lin Xi to him if he can make a handmade sofa. Yicheng accepts his challenge.
Meanwhile, Tong Xin (Yu Shasha) knocks on Yao Cheng (Qiming Fei)’s door. She asks him to look after Peter for a while as she needs to go and get Yicheng’s signature on some important documents. Yao Cheng offers to drive her there instead, as it is not safe to drive on the hilly roads at night.
Xin and Cheng arrive at their destination and see Lin and Yicheng taking a stroll. Yao Cheng gives her the news that Chen Wen has resigned. Lin pretends to shrug it off, but she clearly cares.
The next morning, Lin’s friends meet her parents at the breakfast table. Peter plays around the field. Tong Xin gets emotional seeing Peter so happy. On the other hand, Yicheng gets ready to go out and collect bamboo. He is determined to win over Mr. Lin.
