The upcoming Black Clover anime film officially has a release date, with the movie set to launch in Japan sometime in 2023.

The news comes thanks to the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, which revealed the news alongside a brief teaser trailer that highlighted some visuals from the film with the release.
Despite being one of the most popular animes of its time and being around for more than 7 years, this marks the first official film for the Black Clover franchise. Originally released in 2015, Black Clover became a smash hit when it launched, and its anime — which premiered in 2017 and ran for 170 episodes before ending in March 2021 — was one of the most popular animes of the 2010s.

As of this moment, not too much is known about the upcoming Black Clover film, with those behind production choosing to keep things closer to the vest. However, it’s been rumored that the film will be wrapping up the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc, which the anime adaptation of Black Clover was working on prior to ending in March 2021.
