My Hero Academia chapter 427 Recap: What happens to Spinner?

The chapter 427 of My Hero Academia shows Deku with Spinner. The doctors informs him of the latter’s current condition. Spinner asks him why he is there and calls him a murderer. However, Deku admits that he’s a murderer and tells him he’s here to deliver a message from Shigaraki. He reveals the word, leaving Spinner confused, and wondering if Shigaraki really said something like that.

Spinner remembered how Tomura had given him hope for a better world, free from the prejudice of being a Heteromorph. These emotions causes him to despair, and his body grew larger as he did. While doctors tried to step in, Deku prevented them from interfering. The panel then shows a giant spinner holding Deku and calling Shigaraki his hero.

While people on TV called Shigaraki a man without ideals, Spinner remembered him as someone who loved playing video games. Another person says that although the police are digging into his past, they can’t empathize with him as that will only birth another Shigaraki. Deku then shared Shigaraki’s words: “I have to become a hero to them.”

This showed that the League was always important to Shigaraki and held a special place in his heart. Spinner blamed himself, telling Deku that he could have saved his friend if he had noticed. He then revealed his plans to write a book about Shigaraki, the symbol of fear. However, Deku suggested it be a comic book. The two parted, with Spinner telling Deku to tell the octopus to do his best.

Deku runs into All Might and Tsukauchi as he leaves Spinner’s room. Tsukauchi then tells Deku that Chisaki has been arrested again. However, this time, the Hassaikai boss visited him. Chisaki was stunned as he thought he was in a coma; however, he was able to nullify the overhaul quirk with support equipment.

The Boss was highly disappointed, explaining that this is what happens when you stray from the path of humanity. Chisaki began to cry and apologize. However, the Boss claimed it was too late and asked him to apologize to Eri instead. He then said that he would stay by his side, nagging him until he died.

Deku thanked Tsukauchi as he wanted to prevent Eri from meeting Chisaki to avoid her suffering trauma. All Might then tells Deku to get to school as the new first years have arrived. The chapter then shows girls shouting “Todoroki-senpai! Dynamight-senpai!” and running after them. It ends with a confused Deku and an envious Mineta looking at the scene.
