Black Butler season 4 episode 9, “His Butler, Having a Laugh,” begins with Derrick Arden’s appearance shocking everyone. Suddenly, Derrick leans over Greenhill and bites off a chunk of flesh from his arm.
Still shocked by the revelation, Ciel notices that the mark on Derrick Arden’s forehead is similar to that of the undead creatures he saw at Campania. This prompts Ciel to summon Sebastian, who saves Greenhill and captures Derrick.
After Ciel explains the motive for his arrival at Weston, he seeks answers from the headmaster. However, Greenhill interrupts him, revealing that the P4 killed Derrick, and he contacts the director of the Karnstein hospital, Rian Stroker, to cover the crime with the help of his research partner.
Sebastian connects the dots and reckons that the Aurora Society is involved in the matter. Finally, he fathoms the fact that the Undertaker is disguised as the headmaster. The episode reveals that the Undertaker and Ciel were connected, but he suddenly disappeared.
Upon Sebastian’s inquiry, the prefects confess that they killed Derrick to maintain peace at the college. They caught Derrick bullying students and decided that he deserved punishment.
Furthermore, the episode revealed that the Undertaker must have turned Derrick Arden into a bizarre doll after the prefects contacted the Aurora Society.
