A perverted hermit known as the God of Martial Arts in the Dragon Ball series, Master Roshi sports a turtle shell on his back along with a stick to support him. Living on an isolated island, he is enthusiastic about teaching any student willing to reach him. As the teacher for characters such as Goku, Krillin, and Yamcha, he is shown to be an extremely skilled fighter who invented the famous move Kamehameha.
He is usually seen to be poking around in dirty magazines when he is not teaching his students. He was also willing to defeat his students in the World Martial Arts Tournament so that they would not lose their interest in learning martial arts.
