The New Gate episode 6 aired on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 1:30 a.m. JST. The episode, titled “Escort Mission,” saw Shin help Tiera register as an adventurer and go on their first mission together.
The episode picks up where the previous episode left off, with Shin and Tiera entering town. Tiera is amazed by the number of people gathered, but Shin tells her it’s a slow day compared to others. He marvels at her amazement and finds it hard to believe she was once the girl terrified of leaving the shop. He takes her to the adventurer guild. Upon arriving, he is immediately promoted to E-rank adventurer due to his heroic feats against the skull faces in the forest.
Celia asks Shin who Tiera is, and he introduces her, telling Celia she wants to register as an adventurer. Shin then asks for information on sacred sites, but his request is denied because his rank is lower than B. He then asks for any missions they can take while heading to Farnid. Celia recommends a simple escort mission for them to work with another team, which they accept.
While waiting for the guild card, Shin takes Tiera around the town to sightsee. He then visits the orphanage with her, and they thank him for helping them save their place. They circle back to the guild to pick up her guild card, and then Shin teleports them back to the moon sanctum. He then puts the shop into a necklace, and they both head out to join the merchant for their mission.
The New Gate episode 6 spoilers: Tiera and Shin team up to complete their mission
Shin and Tiera arrive outside the city walls and meet Gaien and Tsubaki, their partners for this mission. They are then greeted by Nakk, the merchant, whom they must escort safely on the mission. They all introduce themselves and their ranks to each other, with Gaien revealing he is an A-rank adventurer.
Meanwhile, the kingdom of Belricht is in peril over the sudden disappearance of the moon sanctum. However, the king is temporarily able to calm down after hearing Schnee is on her way to the castle.
Tsubaki asks Shin if he is from Hinomoto, as that is where most samurai originate from, but he tells her no. Their conversations are brought to a stop by some bandits who have blocked the road. They threaten Nakk and Tsubaki, which causes Shin to start emitting terrible bloodlust, which terrifies even Tiera. Tiera is horrified at the thought of having to kill someone, but she shoots the bandits hiding in the forest anyway.
Shin and the rest defeat all the bandits, leaving the boss alive for questioning. He asks him how they were able to get their information. Meanwhile, Tiera arrives and embraces Shin to help release his bloodlust. The episode ends with her embarrassingly staring at Shin and the latter’s confusion.
