On Friday, May 3, 2024, Blue Lock: Episode Nagi released a new main special video featuring major characters, including Hiori and Karasu. Fans stormed the internet, expressing their excitement about the rival players’ appearances. Almost three weeks after the movie was released in Japan, enthusiasts are awaiting the prequel anime’s international release.

According to Crunchyroll, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Crunchyroll are teaming up to bring Blue Lock: Episode Nagi to cinemas globally. Although the 91-minute-long anime film premiered on Sunday, April 19, 2024, in Japan, Crunchyroll confirms that it will be released in North American theaters on Friday, June 28, 2024. Moreover, the film’s release in other international regions will be announced later.
To make it easy for fans who are waiting to watch the film, it will be available in cinemas in Japanese language with English subtitles as well as in an English-dubbed version.
Meanwhile, the first season of Blue Lock is available to stream on Crunchyroll. Also, the web streaming platform describes the new Blue Lock: Episode Nagi movie in the following manner: “That’s a hassle.” That was second-year high schooler Nagi Seishiro’s favorite phrase as he lived his dull life. Until Mikage Reo, a classmate who dreamed of winning the World Cup, discovered Nagi’s hidden skill, inspiring him to play soccer and share his outstanding talent.”

Shunsuke Ishikawa is directing the prequel movie at Studio Eight Bit, while Taku Kishimoto is composing the story. Additionally, Yusuke Nomura is handling character designs, and Jun Maruyama is in charge of music production.
