The universe of Boruto is filled with several magnificent characters. Whether they’re part of the main cast or antagonists, each character has a distinct impact on the storyline. Introduced as a member of Kara, Kashin Koji is a very mysterious character in Boruto. The starting point of the series revolves around him. But he disappears after his fight against Isshiki. Kashin Koji is quite a crucial character, and he has a particular motive.
There were a handful of characters who left an everlasting impression on the audiences, such as Delta, Code, and Jigen. But the enigmatic Kashin Koji was nothing like the characters above. His appearance and abilities are pretty similar to those of a legendary character in the Naruto series, Master Jiraiya. Is he actually related to the Shinobi who trained the seventh Hokage, or was it a misdirect on the author’s part?
Who is Kashin Koji?
Kashin Koji’s first appearance takes place in the 13th chapter of Boruto. He is introduced as an inner member of Kara. Being one of the “inner,” it was evident that he was genetically modified. Koji’s superhuman strength is an excellent indicator of this modification. However, audiences weren’t intrigued because of his mighty strength.
He was working under Jigen and seemed to be an average antagonist at first sight. However, he attacked one of his team members, which left fans confused. Kashin Koji had the chance to destroy his enemies from Konoha, but he decided to attack Victor. His hesitation in picking the weapon against Konoha and killing his teammate without any second thoughts was concerning.
Some light was shed on his existence when he opened up about his connections to Konohagakure. He used a technique similar to the Rasengan, a well-known jutsu belonging to Minato Namikaze. His appearance was somewhat similar to that of one of the Legendary Sannins, Jiraiya.
Is Kashin Koji related to Jiraiya?
While the fight between Jigen and Kashin Koji took place, his connection to Jiraiya was revealed. They shared a deep connection as he was a clone of the Legendary Sannin. This was possible due to the genius of Kara’s scientist, Amado. He used Jiraiya’s DNA to make a clone of him. He wanted to bring Jiraiya back to life when he was in his prime, as it was all a part of his plan to stop Jigen.
Since Koji is basically a clone of Jiraiya, it wasn’t surprising that he possessed similar appearance, behavior, and combat techniques. He is pretty cunning and wise and has a strategic mindset similar to the Sannin. He was always ready to outsmart his enemies, which proved to be a pretty fantastic trait. Apart from this, Koji was immensely strong, as his combat strategies and tactics were similar to Jiraiya as well. When he was fighting against Jigen, he used techniques like Fire Release, Mud Release, and even the Toad Sage Mode. Naruto never met Koji, but he felt this strange sense of proximity to Koji, which further emphasizes the fact that Koji was indeed related to Jiraiya.
