Urusei Yatsura episode 12 recap
The episode starts with Ran putting the final details on the cupcakes. On her way to drop them off, she is spotted by Ataru, who follows her secretly. She mistakenly drops a cupcake, which he picks up, enticed by the smell. He eats it. Lum finds him on the floor beside a wrapper with Ran’s name on it. As she panics, she believes it to be fatal.
Lum leaves him with some doctors while she goes in search of Ran. After an accident causes her to believe his death, Ran finds her crying, and they return to see him. Ataru wakes up, and it is revealed the cupcake he ate is equivalent to eating 100 at once.
The second part of the episode focused on the legend of the kitsune, which says that anyone will be transformed into a kitsune if they take in a special herb under a full moon—a kitsune searches for Shinobu to turn her into a fox. The kitsune approaches Ataru and Lum disguised as Shinobu to take her home, but they see through it immediately.
After much convincing, they take the fox to see Shinobu, but he discovers he has lost his herbs. He asks Lum and Ataru for help, and they eventually discover the herbs inside the dinner that Cherry and Kotatsu cooked. The episode ends with all of them turning into foxes and enjoying their meal.
