The official website and Twitter account for Eku Takeshima’s Whisper Me a Love Song anime released a new promotional video. The announcement also revealed the anime’s release date and a new visual. Eku Takeshima released the manga in 2019 with Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime magazine.
Whisper Me a Love Song Yuri Anime: Everything you need to know
The highly anticipated Whisper Me a Love Song anime will be part of the Spring 2024 lineup. The series will be released on Saturday, April 13th, 2024, at 11:00 p.m. Reportedly, the anime’s band SSGIRLS will perform the opening song, “Follow Your Arrows,” while Hana Shimano will perform the ending song, “Gifty.”
The anime is set to cast Hana Shimano as Himari Kino and Asami Seto as Yori Asanagi. It will also feature Mikako Komatsu as Aki Mizuguchi, Konomi Kohara as Mari Tsutsui, and Ai Kakuma as Kaori Tachibana. Yuna Nemoto, Reina Ueda, and Chika Anzai will join them, and they will star Shiho, Momoka, and Hajime.
Akira Mano will direct the anime at Cloud Hearts, and Yokohama Animation Lab will supervise production. Hiroki Uchida handles the series scripts, while Minami Yoshida designs the characters. Hiroshi Sasaki and Wataru Maeguchi will compose the music.
Kodansha USA Publishing, which releases the manga in English, describes the series as: “Bubbly, energetic first-year high school student Himari falls head over heels for her senpai, Yori, after hearing her band perform on the first day of school. Himari tells Yori she just loves her, and, to Himari’s surprise, Yori says she loves Himari back! But when Himari realizes that she and her senpai are feeling two different kinds of love, she asks herself what “love” really means.”
