The upcoming movie from the Chainsaw Man franchise was unveiled at the Super Stage RED at Jump Festa 2024. The panel announced that instead of a second season, the Reze arc will be adapted into a movie. As of now, there hasn’t been any official release date confirmed yet. The movie was teased with a trailer and two character visuals. Reze’s voice actor also joined the panel, revealing the new cast member.
Leaving aside the Chainsaw Man movie, several other details for the manga’s part 2 were revealed at the panel. Moreover, a relationship chart was provided alongside the reveal of the upcoming chapter of the manga.
Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc release date, cast, and more
The Chainsaw Man panel happened on December 17, 2023, at 3:30 pm JST. It took place at the second day’s RED Super Stage and ran for roughly 40 minutes. The panel consisted of the show’s main cast, including Kikunosuke Toya (Denji), Shogo Sakata (Aki Hayakawa), Tomori Kusunoki (Makima), and Fairouz Ai (Power).
The stage started with a display of animated panels from the show’s first season with voiceovers from the voice actors. Towards the end, a promotional teaser of the upcoming Chainsaw Man movie, titled Chainsaw Man the Movie – Reze Arc, was unveiled. Reze’s voice actor, Reina Ueda, joined the panel following the grand reveal. The character visual for Reze was released as well.
The cast members at the panel traced through Ueda’s casting and discussed the studio’s decision to turn the Reze arc into a film instead of a second season. In addition, the panelists thoroughly discussed the flowers over Reze’s body in the key visual.
As mentioned earlier, there hasn’t been any details regarding the release date for this movie. Considering that MAPPA already has its hands full with ongoing projects, audiences must be patient for the release window.
