Jujutsu Kaisen returned this week with an emotional and action-packed episode. It hasn’t been long since the Shibuya Incident arc started in the series, and MAPPA has produced some great episodes. In this week’s episode, Nanami was fated to meet his demise, leaving many in tears.
With the recent episode 18 of Jujutsu Kaisen season two, fans weren’t disappointed with MAPPA at all. It was evident from the previews that this episode would focus primarily on Nanami, and it did. We saw a wounded Nanami wandering in Shibuya until he collided with Mahito, who drove him to his final moments.
How did Nanami die in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 18?
The series’ community has been left disheartened as Nanami passed away in the latest episode of Jujutsu Kaisen. Since he was introduced in the early part of the anime, fans grew fond of the blond sorcerer. Despite the tough exterior, he deeply cared for his students and looked out for them. Similar to Gojo, Nanami wished to shield his students from the harsh realities of Jujutsu society.
After seeing his final moments against Mahito, fans have been expressing a plethora of reactions on X (Formerly known as Twitter). Most of them are grieving the death of their beloved sorcerer.
Albeit, there were audiences who were aware of Nanami’s death as they read the manga. However, his death still emotionally impacted the viewers.
In the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, there is no probability of Kento Nanami returning to the line of action as the story progresses. Even the author, Gege Akutami, planned the story so that Nanami’s death in the Shibuya Arc would be his final moments. As we know, the manga is already in the final arc. With Chapter 242, we’ll be seeing the battle between Kenjaku and Takaba play out.
