While best known for creating groundbreaking video games, such as the Metal Gear Solid series and Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima is also an avid enjoyed of all mediums of art from music to movies. His latest recommendation on Twitter is the time loop anime Summer Time Rendering, which Kojima is hooked on and can’t stop thinking about.
What did Hideo Kojima think about Summer Time Rendering?
Kojima came across the anime series while browsing Netflix in Japan (it’s on Hulu in the United States). Intrigued by its time loop premise, the MGS creator gave it a go and suddenly found himself 10 episodes deep.
“I accidentally found Summer Time Rendering on Netflix, wow this is surprisingly good!” gushed Kojima. “Time loop x The Stolen City (Body Snatchers) in Wakayama version?!! Liked the character design, great script, drawings, directions! I thought it was such a joke when Ushio appears but this is so sick! Ushio is challenging us so bad! So funny! I can’t stop thinking about it! And Akio is in!! Too late to notice? I’m sorry!! I watched up until Episode 10 tonight.”

There are 25 episodes, so Kojima still has plenty of Summer Time Rendering left to watch.
