Senku, Ryusui, Chrome, Ukyo, and Gen discuss Why-Man and how they are a potential enemy. Senku then creates cathode ray tubes using a conical flask and some crystals. He turns it up a notch and creates radar and sonar. They take it to the water, making an underwater sonar that can also catch fish. With that, the Kingdom of Science is closer to finding out more about the petrification mystery. Meanwhile, Francois creates various dishes out of the piles of fish they caught.
However, the next problem is the huge engines needed for the ship, meaning they need large amounts of steel and oil. Chrome manages to solve the problem by creating a metal detector. He finds an iron deposit, and everyone begins mining. Senku says they are entering the Industrial Age. But Kohaku and the others are thinking about how difficult it is to transport the resources back. With that, Kohaku and the power team start making paved roads, much to the surprise of Gen and Ukyo. Back at the mine, Senku and Chrome get around following the creation of mine carts.
