Classroom of the Elite II Episode 8 Recap
Horikita and Kushida will lead the study sessions. However, Miyake and Hasebe don’t fit with any group. Yukimura volunteered to tutor them. Meanwhile, Horikita asks Ayanokoji to join Yukimura in his study group. During the session, the group encounters someone from Class C complaining about a custom cake order. Suddenly, Ayanokoji remembers that his birthday is approaching soon. The group briefly discusses Class C, who will be formulating their test questions.
Hasabe notes the questions may be tricky, so she doesn’t understand the relevance of the study group. Ayanokoji points out the school decides if the questions are acceptable or not. After the session, Ayanokoji and Horikita meet. Ayanokoji says the class should prepare some trick questions and see which the school approves. Suddenly, Ayanokoji receives a message from Ryuen, addressed to “mastermind.” In the message, he asks who the mastermind is.
After the study group in the library, Ayanokoji asks Horikita about her strategy in dealing with Kushida. She says she will deal with it in her own way. Horikita offers a bet to Kushida. If Horikita scores higher than Kushida in the upcoming exam, Kushida will stop sabotaging her. If Kushida scores higher than Horikita, Horikita will voluntarily leave the school. Horikita invites her older brother as a witness. After Manabu leaves, Kushida tells Ayanokoji to come over since she knows he was listening over the phone.
The three meet up, and Kushida adds another condition: Ayanokoji will drop out too. Ayanokoji accepts and asks Kushida to tell him about her past as an additional condition. Kushida begins to talk about her background. As a child, she loved receiving praise and recognition. However, she had to try something else in middle school to receive the acknowledgment she craved. She ended up being a reliable figure to her classmates. Eventually, she was fed up. Kushida created a blog as an outlet for her frustrations, but a classmate found it. When the class confronted her, she spilled everyone’s “truth.” The class began to turn against each other instead of solely turning against her.
