During the student assembly, Horikita’s brother resigns as student council president. Nagumo from Class 2-A will replace him. After that, Katsuragi approaches Ayanokoji. Katsuragi warns Ayanokoji about Ryuen and tells Ayanokoji he should also inform Horikita about it. Katsuragi leaves, and Sato shows up. Sato asks for Ayanokoji’s number, appearing to have developed a crush on him. During their exchange, it turns out Karuizawa was watching from behind.
Chabashira praises the class since none of the students got expelled. Even so, the challenges for them continue. Chabashira explains the details for the upcoming special test, Paper Shuffle, which will be their final. For this test, students will be working in pairs. They need to achieve at least 60 points as a pair. Otherwise, it will lead to expulsion. The pairs will be assigned through a mini-test. Furthermore, the exam questions will be coming from the students themselves. Each class will formulate the questions, and they can pick which class should answer them. The class with the higher score will steal 50 class points from the other class.
Horikita invites the others to a strategy meeting. Kushida asks if she can join, and Horikita agrees. Horikita lets the group go ahead to the cafe for the meeting. Meanwhile, Horikita shares what she knows about Kushida’s past with Ayanokoji. According to rumors, a single student tore a class apart. Ayanokoji thinks they should just get Kushida expelled, but Horikita believes she can convince Kushida to join their side. Elsewhere, Ryuen finds the spy in Class C who assisted Class D’s so-called “mastermind.”
During the strategy meeting, Horikita explained her plan so they could balance out the pairings for the Paper Shuffle. In the evening, Karuizawa calls Ayanokoji. She asks about the details regarding Sato and how it might affect her. Ayanokoji says he will still protect her, no matter what. The next day, Horikita shares the plan with the rest of the class. They agree, and Ayanokoji gets paired up with Sato.
