Legion’s renewed for season 3!
FX has announced that Legion, the acclaimed drama series from creator and executive producer Noah Hawley, will officially return for a third season!
“Legion has redefined the superhero drama and exceeded all expectations as the intensity and revelation build through the second season,” said FX president of original programming Eric Schrier. “We are incredibly proud of Noah Hawley’s achievement and are honored to continue the series as it pushes the boundaries of conventional television storytelling. We are also grateful for the contributions of our executive producers, John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, and Jeph Loeb with Marvel Television, as well as our outstanding cast and crew of this groundbreaking show.”
Three episodes remain in the second season of the series which recently had an additional episode added its count, bringing the second season to 11 total episodes. The season two finale is now set to air on Tuesday, June 12 at 10 p.m. ET.
Based on the Marvel Comics by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, Legion follows the story of David Haller (Dan Stevens), a man who believed he was schizophrenic but discovered he might be the most powerful mutant in the world. With help from a team of specialists, David harnessed his unique abilities and learned he’d been haunted by a malicious parasite. Now, David is all that stands in the way of Amahl Farouk (Navid Negahban) from attaining infinite and world-ending power.
Noah Hawley serves as Executive Producer, along with John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. Legion is the latest project from Hawley and Cameron, two of the executive producers of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning FX anthology series Fargo. Legion is produced by FX Productions and Marvel Television, with FXP handling the physical production.
Legion airs Tuesday nights on FX at 10 pm ET.
