As 20th Century Fox’s The Wolverine enters its third week of production in Sydney, Australia, director James Mangold has joined Twitter as @mang0ld and has begun offering updates from the set.
“Today I am starting an intense set piece of action and drama at the Yashida Compound set,” he revealed today. “Logan, Yukio and Shingen Amazing images being made. Great actors in this show. Exhilarating to direct a [film] in multiple languages. Real emotion transcends language.”
This would seem to confirm early rumors that suggested that portions of the film’s dialogue will be delivered in Japanese.
Starring Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima and Brian Tee, the film sees Logan beginning a forbidden romance with a Japanese woman whose hand in marriage is, unfortunately, promised to another man. Since Logan won’t take “no” for an answer, it puts him into battle with her father and her samurai-sword-wielding brothers and Silver Samurai.
The Wolverine hits theaters on July 26, 2013.
