Emmy Rossum is the latest addition to the Hard Powder cast
A new cast member has joined Liam Neeson (Schindler’s List, Taken) in the upcoming revenge thriller Hard Powder, according to Empire. Shameless star Emmy Rossum is now set to co-star. Hard Powder is based on the 2014 Norwegian film In Order Of Disappearance (Kraftidioten in Norwegian), which starred Stellan Skarsgård.

Emmy Rossum’s role in Hard Powder hasn’t been revealed yet. Neeson, however, will play a well-liked snowplow driver in a Colorado ski town named Nel, whose son is murdered. To get revenge, Nel uses his special set of skills (he owns a plow, after all) to take out the local drug cartel and its kingpin who are responsible, ultimately sparking a turf war between a Native American mafia and a yuppie gangster called The Viking.
The film will be produced by Michael Shamberg (Django Unchained, Pulp Fiction) for StudioCanal, the European studio who previously made Neeson’s hit actioner Non-Stop. Hard Powder was written by Frank Baldwin (the upcoming The Warriors TV series). Hard Powder will be directed by Norwegian helmer Hans Petter Moland, who also directed the original film.
Rossum is known for her work on the Showtime series, where she recently directed an episode. She appeared as the lead in the film version of The Phantom of the Opera, The Day After Tomorrow, Beautiful Creatures and Mystic River. Rossum also directed two episodes of the TV version of Animal Kingdom. Neeson has been making a career of revenge thrillers and also recently reteamed with Gangs of New York director Martin Scorsese for Silence.
