Benjamin Walker is in talks to star in Legendary Pictures’ Paradise Lost, Deadline reports. He would play the Archangel Michael.
The film, to be directed by Alex Proyas, is an adaptation of John Milton’s 17th-century English poem about the epic war in heaven between Archangels Michael and Lucifer. The role of Lucifer is set to be played by Bradley Cooper.
Walker, who previously appeared in Kinsey and Flags of Our Fathers, will soon play the lead role in Timur Bekmambetov’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, hitting theaters June 22, 2012.
Deadline goes on to say that Paradise Lost is targeting a release near the end of 2013 and that it will go into production in Sydney early next year, likely shooting in 3D. The script, from Stuart Hazeldine, Byron Willinger, Philip de Blasi, Lawrence Kasdan and Ryan Condal, includes three major battle sequences; one in Heaven, one in Hell and one Eden.
