Paranormal still strong
The Lionsgate release Saw 3D won the Halloween weekend box office, grossing $22.5 million. You can either thank 3D ticket prices or curiosity seekers who were interested in seeing how the “final chapter” in the series played out.
The seventh entry out-grossed Saw VI‘s opening numbers, however, it could not overcome the box office numbers chapters 2 through 5 brought in.
Paranormal Activity 2, meanwhile, took in $16.5 million, dropping nearly 60% at the box office since its debut last week. The sequel has grossed close to $66 million so far.
