He and his Troublemaker team on the film’s Blu-ray release
Predators hit home video last week and, to celebrate, Fox invited ShockTillYouDrop to visit Robert Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios in Austin, Texas where, along with on-location shooting in Hawaii, the film was made.
Formerly an airport, Troublemaker is an ever-growing production facility that soon hopes to go completely autonomous, meaning that every single aspect of the filmmaking process could be completed on its grounds. Taking a brief tour of the facilities, it’s not hard to recognize painted backgrounds from Predators, Grindhouse, and Machete literally constructed into the exterior of the central building. Within, the largest green screen in Texas is where Sin City was shot in its entirety.
Rodriguez, founder of the studio and producer of Predators, is joined in the video below by longtime production design collaborators Steve Joyner and Caylah Eddleblutte who, as part of the Troublemaker team, brought the film’s alien world to life.
