Indie Watch: Kurtzman, Savini & More for Dead Matter

From the Midnight Syndicate team

The film appendage of Midnight Syndicate, a company best known for their original dark soundtracks, has announced its feature production The Dead Matter has staked a July 30 release date.

Said to have been inspired by the likes of Tales from the Crypt and Hammer Films’ output, The Dead Matters tells of a relic with occult powers that falls into the hands of a grief-stricken young woman, whose desire to reconnect with her dead brother draws her into the world of vampirism and the living dead.

The film is scored, naturally, by Halloween music legends Midnight Syndicate and co-produced by Robert Kurtzman (Wishmaster) and Gary Jones (Boogeyman 3). Andrew Divoff, Jason Carter, Tom Savini, and television horror hosts Dick Count Gore DeVol Dyszel and Big Chuck Schodowski star for director Edward Douglas (who also takes co-writing credit with Tony Demci).
