Producers want to go back to Crystal Lake
“I pray that there’s a sequel to Friday the 13th,” reveals producer Brad Fuller.
I’m sitting with him and co-producer Andrew Form at the Four Seasons talking about the future of Platinum Dunes, they’ve just told me they’re committed to a new A Nightmare on Elm Street film next. But I’m curious to hear if they’re itching to do another Friday the 13th. Because they’re excited about what they’ve done with Jason Voorhees. I can hear it in their voice every time I speak to them.
On set the pair expressed they were not using the conclusion of their re-imagining of the Friday franchise to lay the groundwork for sequels. But the fans know better. Jason always finds a way to come back.
And should Friday the 13th do well at the box office, well, “We want to go back to Crystal Lake. We love that character,” says Andrew Form. “We’re talking about a screenplay and stuff. I don’t know. I don’t know what we’ll do. Elm Street is our focus right now.”
