Léa Seydoux is the latest name to join the rapidly expanding cast of the fourth Mission: Impossible film, according to a story at The Hollywood Reporter.
Seydoux, a French actress, has recently appeared in the English-language films Robin Hood and Inglorious Basterds and will star in the upcoming Midnight in Paris, Woody Allen’s next project.
Seydoux will play Mission: Impossible‘s female villain, acting alongside Michael Nyqvist, who will play her male counterpart.
The rest of the current line up for the Brad Bird film includes Tom Cruise (returning as Ethan Hunt), Ving Rhames (returning as Luther Stickell), Simon Pegg (returning as Benji Dunn) and newcomers to the franchise Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, Vladimir Mashkov and Josh Holloway.
Mission: Impossible is in production now with plans to shoot in Dubai, among other international locales. It is currently planned for release on December 16, 2011. You can view new set photos here!
UPDATE: Deadline is reporting that Slumbdog Millionaire‘s Anil Kapoor has also been cast as one of M:I IV‘s lead villains.
