Baywatch Movie Casts Model Kelly Rohrbach in the Pamela Anderson Role

When Alexandra Daddario landed the role of Summer in the upcoming Baywatch movie adaptation, star Dwayne Johnson stated, “And juuuuust wait til you guys see who we cast for the iconic role of C.J. Parker….” Well wait no longer, panting readers, as Variety reports that the coveted role has gone to model-turned-actress Kelly Rohrbach, who fills in that red swimsuit once form-fitted around model-turned-actress Pamela Anderson.

The 2015 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie of the Year, Rohrbach also studied acting at Georgetown University and the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA), having previously scored roles in shows like “Two and a Half Men” and “Rizzoli & Isles” as well as in the new Untitled Woody Allen Movie opposite Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg. Among her noted character traits, Anderson’s C.J. was known for being something a New Age enthusiast (crystals, meditation, dream interpretation, etc), though who knows where Rohrbach’s iteration of the character will go? Perhaps we can learn something from these three Instagram videos that Johnson just posted, featuring himself and Rohrbach carrying on in slow-motion beach fun:

Zac Efron (Neighbors) co-stars with Johnson in the film, with Horrible Bosses and Identity Thief director Seth Gordon helming this new take on the long-running syndicated lifeguard show.

Although several writers have been attached to Baywatch, the most recent draft hails from the Friday the 13th pair of Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. Earlier reports suggested that the film will offer a comedy-heavy take that has little to do with the original series. Parts were reportedly written, however, for both Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff to reprise their roles. Whether or not that remains the plan is, at the moment, unconfirmed. As always, check back for updates as they become available.
