‘Jurassic World’ Velociraptor First Look, New ‘Ant-Man’ Writers & Stallone Tackles ‘Scarpa’

Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) has come aboard to direct Sylvester Stallone in Scarpa. Written by Nicholas Pileggi (GoodFellas, Casino), the film will center on the story of real-life hitman Gregory Scarpa (Stallone), a man who murdered for the mob, suspected in the murders of his own biological family, then turned FBI informant. Avi Lerner’s Millennium Films is producing with the hope of beginning production early 2015. [Deadline]

Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) have apparently come provide on set production rewrites to the Ant-Man script on an “as needed” basis following Adam McKay‘s most recent draft. Filming begins next month in Atlanta, Georgia. [Latino Review]

Even though I thought this had already been confirmed as I’ve had the spin-off from James Wan‘s The Conjuring, Annabelle in my database as an October 3 release for some time, apparently yesterday it was made official. So, do with that what you will.

Emily Mortimer is in talks to star alongside James Badge Dale in Spectral for director Nic Mathieu with a script originally written by George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau) and rewritten by John Gatins (Real Steel). The story follows a Special Ops team that fights supernatural beings who have taken over a European city. [THR]
