The first pictures from Crazy Heart director, Scott Cooper‘s Out of the Furnace have made their debut featuring a glimpse at the characters played by Christian Bale and Woody Harrelson in the upcoming drama due in theaters this November.
The film has been described as a gritty throwback to 1970s movies, based on Brad Ingelsby‘s script “The Low Dweller”, following an ex-con (Bale) bent on avenging the death of his younger brother as soon as he’s released from prison. Casey Affleck, Sam Shepard, Willem Dafoe, Zoe Saldana and Forest Whitaker make up the rest of the impressive cast with Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder providing the score.
The pictures come from USA Today where Cooper says, “You often find superheroic people wearing capes and costumes in film today, but working-class Americans are the real heroes. This is the story of this man who works in a blast furnace, but with themes of justice, retribution and courage.”
Just imagine, a hero that doesn’t have to wear spandex!
I expect a trailer will be arriving soon.
