‘Out of the Furnace’ TV Spot Gets Dirty

This new trailer for Scott Cooper‘s Out of the Furnace is called an “extended TV Spot”, but at 90 seconds it’s pretty much a trailer unless Relativity plans on forking over a little more cash to block out almost an entire commercial break.

The film recently premiered at the AFI Festival to mostly positive reviews, though some came with a few caveats, but most of which praised Christian Bale‘s performance as Russell Baze, a steel worker whose brother Rodney (Casey Affleck) has just returned home from serving time in Iraq and is lured into one of the most ruthless crime rings in the Northeast and eventually disappears. The police fail to crack the case, so – with nothing left to lose – Russell takes matters into his own hands, putting his life on the line to seek justice for his brother. Sometimes your battles choose you.

Joining Bale and Affleck in the picture are Sam Shepard, Willem Dafoe, Woody Harrelson, Zoe Saldana and Forest Whitaker.

The film hits theaters December 6 and the screening here in Seattle is still a ways off so for now this is all I have to offer you. Let me know what you think.
