So far we’ve seen a couple of trailers for Ami Canaan Mann‘s Texas Killing Fields which will have its world premiere in competition at the Venice Film Festival and stars Sam Worthington, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jessica Chastain and Chloe Moretz and now I have five images as well as the first poster for the flick, which will hit theaters on October 14 from Anchor Bay Films.
The film is inspired by the string of real-life unsolved murders in a small Texan town and follows a local homicide detective (Worthington), and his partner, a transplanted cop from New York City (Morgan) as they track a sadistic serial killer dumping his female victims’ mutilated bodies in a nearby marsh dubbed “The Killing Fields.” The killer changes the game and begins hunting the detectives, teasing them with possible clues at the crime scenes while always remaining one step ahead. When a familiar local girl (Chloe Moretz) goes missing the detectives find themselves in a race against time to find their killer before she is murdered.
Mann is the daughter of prolific helmer Michael Mann (Heat, Collateral) and serves as her second feature film. I’ve included the most recent trailer for the film above, the poster below and you can watch an international trailer right here.
