Following the immense success of Animal, rising actress Tripti Dimri is set to return to theaters with her upcoming film, Bad Newz, scheduled to release tomorrow, July 19, 2024. Due to its romantic genre, the film has sparked curiosity among viewers regarding its age rating and whether it is family-friendly due to certain elements shown in the trailer.
Initially announced as Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam, the film was later renamed Bad Newz. Directed by Anand Tiwari, it shares a similar concept to the 2019 release Good Newz. According to the trailer, Bad Newz is inspired by true events and revolves around a rare condition called heteropaternal superfecundation, which occurs when twin children are born from the same mother but have different biological fathers.
In the film, Saloni Bagga is pregnant by two different men, Akhil Chadha and Gurbir Pannu. Both fathers compete to prove who is better suited to raise the baby. The film promises a blend of romance and comedy, providing a unique and entertaining narrative.
What is Bad Newz movie age rating?
Regarding its age rating, Bad Newz recently completed its censorship formalities and received a U/A certificate. This indicates that the film is not suitable for viewers under 12 years old without parental guidance. The U/A rating suggests that the film may contain moderate adult themes, muted abusive language, and moderate violence.
Reportedly, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) recommended certain modifications. Specifically, they asked to modify the visuals of lip-lock scenes. Additionally, minor changes included increasing the font size of the anti-alcohol disclaimer and replacing the initial disclaimer.
After these modifications, Bad Newz has a runtime of 2 hours and 22 minutes. Based on the trailer and songs, the film might contain some mature content, so parents should be mindful of this when considering watching it with their children.
Bad Newz is set to hit theaters on July 19, 2024. Stay tuned for its opening day collection.
