Are Will Smith and Charlize Theron returning for Hancock 2?
Will Smith and Charlize Theron are currently not confirmed to return for Hancock 2 as of this writing.
According to Digital Spy in a 2009 interview, Peter Berg stated that the shooting for Hancock 2 would not happen until 2010 owing to the scheduling conflicts that would need to be worked out.
According to an MTV interview that same year, Berg then said that they had hired Glen Mazzara and Adam Fierro as writers for the sequel. He claimed that they had worked out a story and that a script would be ready soon. However, Mazzara and Fierro did not confirm Berg’s claims.
However, according to MovieWeb, Charlize Theron who played Mary in the first Hancock movie had expressed an interest in doing a Hancock 2. In a 2020 press interview for The Old Guard, she claimed that she “would do it in a heartbeat”.
