The spring anime season is ending soon and we’re about to enter a new season full of new shows. But some viewers might still be catching up with the spring shows. Here are some of the best new anime for June 2024.
Kaiju No. 8
Kaiju No. 8 is one of the most popular shows this season for shonen fans. The show should be of interest to viewers who are tired of seeing teenage protagonists in their shonen series. Kaiju No. 8’s protagonist, Kafka Hibino, is 32 years old. So, for viewers who are still in the process of achieving their goals while in their 30s, this could be a relatable story.
The official synopsis from Crunchyroll reads:
“In a world plagued by creatures known as Kaiju, Kafka Hibino aspired to enlist in The Defense Force. He makes a promise to enlist with his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. Soon, life takes them in separate ways. While employed cleaning up after Kaiju battles, Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa. Reno’s determination to join The Defense Force reawakens Kafka’s promise to join Mina and protect humanity.”
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hashira Training Arc
Demon Slayer is a must-watch for old and new anime fans. The animation is some of the best from the past decade. Aside from that, the choreography of the fight scenes is outstanding. Many anime fans highly recommend this series due to its consistently high quality.
Crunchyroll describes the current arc as:
“To the Hashira Training…
The members of the Demon Slayer Corps and their highest-ranking swordsmen, the Hashira.
In preparation for the forthcoming final battle against Muzan Kibutsuji, the Hashira Training commences. While each carry faith and determination within their hearts, Tanjiro and the Hashira enter a new story.”
Whisper Me A Love Song
Whisper Me A Love Song is for the yuri/girls’ love (GL) fans. The romance between Yori Asanagi and Himari Kino is wholesome and cute and fans consider it realistic since it’s not the type of yuri that has excessive fan service, but rather it follows an actual development between the two characters.
The official synopsis from HIDIVE states:
“After performing a song at her school’s opening ceremony, musician Yori Asanagi receives an apparent love confession from freshman Himari Kino. But just as Yori decides she wants to return Himari’s feelings, Himari reveals that she did not “love” her, but “admires” her! But you can’t unring a bell once struck, and Yori is determined to make Himari fall for her, not just her music. Will their hearts ever beat as one, or will their love fall out of tune?”
