After six years of anticipation, Gaami is finally set for its theatrical release on March 8, 2024. As the release date approaches, the question lingers – Will Gaami follow the sequel trend? Recently, debutant director Vidyadhar Kagita addressed this rumor.
The pre-release event of Gaami in Hyderabad provided a platform for both the makers and cast to reflect on the six years of hard work invested in this project. Vishwak Sen, the lead actor, passionately shared, “We did the film with honesty. We took many risks for Gaami, and hopefully, they will get paid off. After watching Gaami, I walked out with a heavy heart. Gaami has a recall value and will haunt you even after going home. It is also a movie that you will all be proud of. Adivi Sesh inspired me at the beginning of my career.”
Acknowledging the significant contribution of crowdfunding supporters, the director expressed gratitude. Meanwhile, Shloka Entertainments, the USA film distributor, confirmed the movie’s premiere on March 7. Moreover, as per one X (formerly Twitter) user, Gaami is already making waves across 147 locations, grossing $35,268 in advance ticket sales. Talking about the Indian audience, BookMyShow shows that 31.5K cine lovers are interested in watching the movie.
Director Vidyadhar’s response on Gaami sequel
Regarding the possibility of a Gaami sequel, Vidyadhar quashed any speculation, stating that he has no intentions of extending the storyline further. However, this revelation sparked intense curiosity among the audience regarding the film’s ending.
Meanwhile, as Gaami awaits its theatrical debut, reports claimed that Zee5 has acquired the digital rights, with a digital premiere slated for early April. Notably, the film earned an ‘A’ certification from the Central Board of Film Certification due to its graphic visuals and violence. In addition, the film boasts a star-studded cast, including Vishwak Sen, Chandini Chowdary, Abhinaya, and Harika Pedda in prominent roles. Karthik Sabareesh has produced it under the Karthik Kult Kreations banner.
With just hours remaining until its release, anticipation mounts for Gaami’s box-office performance on its opening day.
